About this Blog

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog “Memoirs of 1 Million Daimoku.” I’ve been a member of Soka Gakkai International (Nichiren Buddhist organization for peace, culture and education) since March 15th, 2009. I recently started my first 1 million daimoku campaign (300 hours of Buddhist prayer toward victory). If you are a member of SGI and need some extra encouragement, are curious about Nichiren Buddhism, looking for a life Philosophy to live by, or have a seeking spirit about how to become to happy,  please follow me, as I will be tracking my journey to victory. The fact that I chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo means I have already won! And YOU can too!!! This is in a sense my online diary that I am making public. I am determined to show actual proof that Nam Myoho Renge Kyo works! To learn more about Nichiren Buddhism, or SGI, please visit www.sgi-usa.org

As a YWD (Young Women’s division member) I think it’s also very important to record your thoughts, victories, obstacles ect so you can track your growth 🙂 It’s the “youthful” thing to do, that has a major impact later in life. Think about Sensei’s (SGI President Daisaku Ikeda) wonderful book, “A Youthful Diary” How many of us have been truly touched, inspired, encouraged and determined to do more after reading it? You just never know who you might help with your own experience. So this is my attempt to “Pay It Forward” in the internet world 🙂 It’s going to be so awesome, exciting, rewarding and life changing to see how wonderfully things unfold during this campaign. I am chanting for myself and others, so many people are going to be positively impacted by this determination.

As this journey takes off, feel free to leave comments, ask questions, or find me around the web. Also, feel free to share your experiences with me.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Respectfully,

Torrie Pattillo

“{This is the} only kind of Buddhism that says that the way to attain happiness is through your own desires!!! Yaaayyy! You don’t have to suffer painful austerities or be reborn in many lifetimes to bring forth your own Buddhahood or highest Buddha nature.
You can attain it right here…right now…just as you are!
There’s no accident that you are reading this blog at this time!
I look forward to sharing this journey together with you!
We are all Buddhas!”
